Goodies from France

I should be studying statistics now, but my head is off for the moment so I thought I'll give it a break and do a blog post instead. I wanna share with you a couple of products that my dad brought me from France while he was there. I've been wanting them for a long time and so I finally got them! I asked my dad to grab me the infamous Embyolisse Lait-Creme Concentre face moisturizer if he steps into the French pharmacy. He found the cream and picked it up for me:) The price was 13 euro, which is very reasonable for a tube of 100ml moisturizer. My skin was driving me crazy the past few months. Oily, dry, flaky, sensitive, acne prone...hrrr just all the worst features. So Emryolisse moisturizer is very famous among make up artists, dermatologists, it's simply a must-have in the beauty industry. Basically because it suits all skin types, even the most sensitive skin, it contains all natural ingredients, water and vitamins. Here is the description of what it's supposed to do:

"Moisturised, nourished and repaired, the skin is supple and elastic once more. It is plumped, smoothed, and incredibly soft. Signs of dryness and discomfort disappear, leaving the skin soothed. Its creamy milk texture leaves a satin film, even on dry skin."

I would say that it's a perfect moisturizer if you have a dry skin that needs to be plumped with nutrition and needs a good moisture. If your skin is dry, it will make a perfect make up base for you. You can see Pixiwoo sisters do that as they both have very dry skin. Their skin is nearly perfect whatsoever.

I've been treating my acne with Avene's Diacneal cream and it dried out the parts of my skin that were treated so badly. The imperfections dried out and peeled together with my skin so it was really flaky. I've been using Emryolisse all over my face before going to sleep for about a week now and as it's quite a rich cream, I prefer using it at night time only. In the morning I wake up with supper soft, well moisturised and plumped skin. I really like that the cream doesn't have a strong annoying scent and I'll be definitely using it when i have dry skin issues (which is rare for me, but oh well). I wouldn't use it during the day time, simply because I have very oily skin, but if yours is on a dryer side, give it a go. I can recommend it to everyone!

Another product is Miss Dior Cherie perfume! It was on the top of my perfume wishlist for quite a long time. I just love this scent! It's very me, very girly, sweet, intense and flirty perfume. Might not be for everyone..I'm sure most of my family members would feel sick after smelling it, but it's just what I like (perfume, not sick people). I'm not going into details telling you about the notes, cause I don't think I'm very good at describing scents, but I definitely see a strawberry soaked in caramel, with sprinkles of sugar on top, laying in a bowl next to the vase of full of jasmine branches picked from the garden. Few spritz of this perfume will last a really long time so spray it directly on your skin if you don't want your clothes to smell like this for weeks (not that I don't change my clothes, but it can be a scarf or something that doesn't require a frequent wash).
I have the eau de parfum version, which is way more intense and contains different notes than eau de toilette version, which doesn't have the notes of strawberry, musk and violette, but has vanilla instead. I like both scents and now there has been a new version of Miss Dior Cherie eau de parfum released, starring Natalie Portman. Most of you have probably already seen the advertisement and heard about the whole Galliano drama. I haven't smelled it yet so cannot compare the two. But for now I love my new perfume and the elegant carefree feel it gives me.

Ladies, go get this hand moisturizer from Nivea! It's seriously amazing..cheap, yet effective. Non greasy texture, smells really good, doesn't leave any greasy residue on your hands, absorbs fast and leaves your hands super soft and smooth. Love it!

Nails of the moment

So I'm wearing my Chanel Black Pearl nail polish. Just kidding, but I think I have a pretty good dupe. It's a super cheap nail polish that I bought even before Black Pearl was released. I remember thinking that it's such an unusual color, something I've never seen before. The blue shimmery reflects in the polish looked so beautiful that I dropped it into my bag without any further doubt. After my first use I thought..ugh, it's kinda weird...blueish green nails, not my comfort zone so I just left it in the box deep under my other polishes and didn't reach for it since then. And then, bang! Chanel Black Pearl, the "it polish". As I've started seeing this color more and more, I slowly fell in love with it and found myself thinking today...I need Black Pearl. But then I managed to convince myself that it's just a trend color, Chanel nail polish quality is not my favorite so why spend money on it. Then my Nail System 348 nail polish was brought to life again and after applying in on my nails, I thought: Boy, does it look just like Black Pearl! I'm sure I can even fool people saying it's Chanel and nobody will even argue about that (I'm not that kind of person, though). Here are the pictures for your judgement:)

Travalo

Have any of you heard about Travalo before? I'm sure that most of beauty bloggers and gurus have, it's quite a popular thing in US as I've noticed. But here, in Europe it's not that famous yet. Basically it is a tiny refillable perfume bottle that you can carry around in your bag. It is perfect for those of you who travel a lot, including myself. It's a little metal bottle in a size of a lipstick, or a tampon if you prefer this comparison. At first I was a little skeptical about it, thinking that it will look very cheap and be poor quality, however I was wrong. As it's not plastic, it feels quite solid and is actually very good quality, the pump or spray, whatever you call it, works very well. I feel that it spreads perfume as a very fine mist, rather than squirting chunky drops of your favorite scent all over the place. So what you do is take your usual perfume bottle, remove the nozzle, the little metal head and place the bottom of Travalo on top of the bottle, then just pump and you will see the amount of perfume that you pumped in through the packaging. It contains up to 50 spritz and comes in different colors, such as black, gold, silver red, pink. As it's travel friendly, they are selling Travalos on airplanes for 10 euro (that's where I got mine from), but you can get them on their website or ebay as well. I really recommend this perfume atomizer as you don't need to carry your perfume bottle with you, just take this little guy in your bag and you are safe!

Clarins Lip Perfectors

Can a girl have enough of lip products ever? Nooo! I hear myself answering...So last weekend coming home from Paris I popped into duty free (that's completely excusable) and I saw this Travel set offer where you get 2 Clarins Lip Perfectors for the price of one. 20 euro for two glosses is quite a good deal and since I've been wanting to get them for a while, I was really happy to see this set. Nic from Pixiwoo sisters raved about these a while ago...she said she loves these and has even repurchased. Well, if Pixiwoo sisters recommend something, you know it's a good product, don't you:)
Now moving on to my personal opinion. I have to say that I really really like them! The coral one...umm not so much, just for the shade, I'm more of a pink girl. Maybe it will work out on me if I ever get tanned...so we shall see. But the pink one is a great lipgloss! Just to warn you, it has a very sweet smell and tastes almost like sugar, so those of you who hate scented products, try it out first before buying. These glosses come only in three shades: pink, coral and nude. I love the fact that they are not sticky at all (hate sticky glosses!). They leave your lips very moisturizer, plump and super glossy..there is no glitter particles so your lips are not sparkly or shiny, just very glossy and juicy looking. Looove my pink tube! And I think it's very similar to Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de gloss in Imaginaire. Clarins is half the price and gives pretty same effect. But then again Chanel is Chanel, right:)

I'm going to Paris for a weekend so I thought I'd show you what's in my travel make up bag which contains a limited amount of liquids. I had hard time trying to fit everything in. Nevertheless, I managed to do so, but my lip product reservoir doesn't make me happy.

Wardrobe finds

So today I was thinking about sunglasses as it's been super sunny and I remembered that I have a box of my old sunglasses in the wardrobe. Once I opened the box, I found some oldie aviators that are too big and unwearable (consequences of using sunglasses as a headband) and I saw those huge pink shades. I remember buying them at H&M in Germany, I believe 6 years ago. At that time I was a teen and everybody thought I look funny with those oversized sunnies, but I just ignored them. I guess it was a new thing back then :) Now I fell in love with them again...just this raspberry color is so pretty! I'll be wearing them in summer with my wide brim hat for sure.

Oh, and this new hat from Zara is soo pretty!!!

Gosh lipsticks

Lipsticks again...I know. But then again, my blog title tells you that I'm a bit of a lipstick lover : )
So I've been keen on trying Gosh Velvet Touch lipsticks as their packaging look very classy and luxe for a drugstore. I've heard many girls rave about Gosh Darling lipstick which is a nude shade, but once I saw it, I though: "God, I'm not putting this concealer anywhere near my lips!" Then I went through their selection of shades, which is quite minimal and my eye was caught by this beautiful deep red shade, called  'Hot'n Sweet'. It is gorgeous, I must say! The pigmentation is amazing, it is a very high quality creamy lipstick, glides on smoothly, doesn't run into the lines of your lips, it doesn't dry them either and it stays put. It's kinda matte, but not completely, has a little sheen to it. Basically it has everything you would expect from a perfect lipstick. I find that it goes with my pale skin tone very well, I prefer this deeper red shade on me rather than the classic red. This lipstick proved it to me, that deeper shades work better with my pale complexion. The packaging as I've mention already is very sleek and classy. It's just a black case, which kinda reminds me of Nars rubbery packaging, but it's not exactly the same, Gosh products don't attract dirt so they stay clean and more hygienic looking.

As I was very fortunate with my first Gosh lipstick, I wanted to try their Soft'n Shine slim lipsticks (not to mention they were having special offer). Colors looked very pretty, but I chose kind of an everyday coraly pink color with gold shimmery particles. They are considered as 'lip balm', which basically means that they are very sheer glossy lipsticks that you can apply whenever you feel like your lips need some color and moisture, without worrying about precise application. I love these kind of lipsticks and I believe that Chanel Rouge Coco Shines are this kind of thing (haven't got any yet). The color I got is called 'Sweetheart' and I love it! You don't need any lipgloss on top (not that I'm a big fan of lipgloss over a lipstick), it makes your lips very juicy and shiny. Don't expect it to stay long on your lips, because it's a sheer lipstick that doesn't have a long staying power, but it is super pretty! I definitely recommend Gosh lipsticks: )

Me wearing 'Sweetheart', sorry, this photo doesn't do any justice to how pretty the lipstick is.

Nail polish talk

So I was going through my nail polish collection, getting rid of the colors that I don't use or simply polishes that are horrible quality (In fact, I have lots of those). Before I never really cared about quality, if I like the color, I'd buy it. But that's a total waste of money. I finally found a brand that I can trust and as you all might have noticed it's Essie. They are slightly more expensive than your regular nail polish, but you won't be disappointed by the quality of them. from now on, I'll stick with Essie and won't waste my money on cheap rubbish drugstore nail polishes. The only sad thing is that in my city Essie is sold only in one place and they never have limited collections. Like the winter, spring colors and so on..The new French Affair collection is sooo pretty, sadly I can get colors only from the permanent collection. As it's spring already, I decided to get some brighter colors and stay away from my deep reds, burgundys, purples and such...I got a beautiful strawberry pink, called Strawberry sorbet, which for some weird reason is called Strawberry shortcake on their website and is marked unavailable...anyway, it's a beautiful summery pink. The other one I got is kind of a goldy metallic nude color, called Buy me a cameo. It's described as a frosted satin mocha color and because it's frosted, it is very hard to apply. It looks very streaky on the nails and is so hard to work witch, I do not recommend getting it. The color is very pretty indeed, but application is disastrous...it's not opaque with one coat, u have to apply it 2-3 times and it still looks too streaky for my liking.

Rouge Coco Shine

Oh, I just cannot wait till they release Chanel Rouge Coco Shines! These lipsticks look sooo beautiful, light, glossy, moisturizing. It's everything you want your lips to look like while drinking fruit cocktails with your best friend in the summertime! I will be definitely getting at least one of the shades...
