Lipstick army

I love lipsticks, let's just make that clear. I don't think I will ever have enough of them. I think it's such a feminine and powerful tool. Yes, I just called lipstick a tool. It can boost your confidence in only a matter of one swipe. You can leave lipstick prints on your cups(hence the blog name) or napkins which I find very sexy or get your man weak at the knees.
Red lipstick in particular is my favourite. The perfect red to me is probably a cool pink toned red in a very deep colour. Lipstick has to be rich and creamy, smell lovely and last at least a while. Although, I don't mind reapplying my lipstick, it's an enchanting process by itself.
Being of a pale, very pale complexion that is, I think I can pull of red or simply dark vampy lip quite well. Nude lipsticks don't really work for me, they just make me look deadly, washed out and just boring. So, to make a contrast and give some colour to my fair self, I like to rock a bold lip.
Orange based reds look terrible on me, or even just true reds, I don't have the right colouring for that. I think you should have more tanned or olive skin to pull these off. Gimme burgundys, plums, wines, pink reds, blue reds anytime, I'll rock them like nobody's business:)

I've been wearing this lately quite a lot and it's one of my fave looks, especially perfect for winter. Nothing much on the face, nothing or champagne wash of colour on the lids, lots of mascara and a bold lip. BOOM! You've got a super sophisticated glamorous everyday look which is more than easy to achieve! I love that. Quick and easy? I'm game.
The list left to right:
Dior Rouge Rose Diablotine/Devilish Pink 880
Armani Silk #1
Armani Silk #30
Dior Addict 770 Ultra Prune/Shiniest Plum
Chanel Allure #28 Romantic
YSL Rouge Volupté #12 Forbidden Burgundy
Armani Mania #12

Here's just some of the pictures of me playing around with the lipsticks. Don't ask which shades I'm wearing, they are all mixed up and I cannot recall.

Get your lipsticks out, gurls!

  2. I love the YSL one, I want one! So georgeous!
You look great with these berry colors, it is kind of funny, but they look so natural on you, I suppose because you feel yourself great wearing them and this shows.
I really like nude lipsticks, but not the pale-pale ones, because I am pale like you. I like nude lipsticks like Blankety from MAC for example, wich are neutral toned but have a medium color intensity. :)

    1. Yeah, the YSL one is super dark but I still love that. I guess you are right, as longs as you feel confident about something, it looks as it is a very natural thing. Blankety is the only real nude I own, I love it also because it's not concealer-like, works perfect for us pale girls:)

  5. Hi Eve, do you wear a lip liner with YSL's Forbidden Burgundy? And do you know of one that goes well with most of your deep red/plum shades? I'm a fair-skinned blonde as well and you really inspired me to experiment with red lipstick, but I'm clueless when it comes to which lip liners I should pair with them.

    1. No, I don't have a deep lip liner yet, am on a hunt for one as well. From the research I did, I'd say check Ysl #1, Dior 943 Prune Troublant (I'd go for this one), mac beet but to go perfectly with ysl forbidden burgundy, I'd say get Mac Vino lip liner. In the pics I used Mac Red Enriched:) Hope that helps! xx

Love your collection. you have inspired me to try some dark colors. I have blonde hair and pale complexion and I think some of these would look great one me. I work in a hospital so unfortunantely I can't wear certain colors, But I can do a pretty eye look.
Love your blog. Your blog is one of the few I follow and I love your style in fashion and make up of course. I hope you have a great weekend.
