is anyone...

Is anyone else drooling over the Rodarte dress Natalie wore in Black Swan, or is it just me? When I saw it, my jaw dropped and I thought 'I want it as my wedding dress!'

Vitamins + eye cream and my thoughts

A while ago. I bought a pack of daily vitamins Viaderma for healthier hair, beautiful skin and stronger nails which you are supposed to take twice a day. I'm kinda skeptical towards such things, I don't think they really work and it's more of a one's personal belief that they do work. But they were having a discount in a drugstore for these vitamins and when I saw this gorgeous lilac box paired with a reasonable price, I just couldn't resist. (Ieva, tell that it's not the packaging which attracted your attention and have a good laugh at yourself). So I've been taking these vitamins daily for about 8 days now. Of course it's too early to judge and tell it they really work. I didn't see any difference in my nails or hair, but my skin got better. I almost didn't get any new pimples these past few weeks, but I'm not completely sure if it's the vitamins or my skincare. I'll do an update once I finish them all and tell you whether my skin has improved even more or not. I have post-acne blemishes and some redness here and there so I'm looking for products that would help me completely clear out my skin.

Another product I got is Lierac Diopti Calm anti- fatigue eye cream. I'm a student, do you need further explanation? Haha. To be honest, this is again the time to blame A model recommends for me purchasing this product. Ruth claimed to truly love this eye cream and the description perfectly suited my needs so I gave it a try.
Ridiculously enough I've noticed that I already have fine lines under my eyes. I'm 19 if you are wondering. You may ask how is that possible? I say, you tell me! Whenever I put concealer under my eyes, it has a tendency to run into those fine lines and looks really unattractive. I believe it happens because I don't moisturize my eye area enough, I spend a lot of time in front of computer so my under eyes get really dry and thus lines said hello to me! I moisturize my face very well but eyes are left out. Other concerns of mine are dark under eye circles and puffiness which appear when I stay up late and don't get enough of sleep. You can hide the darkness with concealer, but I hate waking up with puffy eyes. Drives me crazy!

Diopti Calm eye balm by French skincare line Lierac is supposed to instantly soothe your under eye area, cool it and provide an instant brightening, up lifting effect that makes your eyes appear well rested and more awake. You can also use it as a mask by applying a thicker layer of balm under your eyes, gently massaging and patting it with your fingertips, then leaving it on for 5 mins. and wiping it of with a cotton ball afterwards. The product itself contains a lot of natural ingredients, which is a big plus for me. They are: cornflower, mallow, linden, oat and witch hazel.

I've been using the balm for a week now every night and morning. It became a routine for me already, sometimes along with the Garnier eye roller thingy. It's quite short period of time to be able to tell more about the product, but from what I've experienced so far I can say that it definitely soothes and smoothes my eyes. I feel that they are given the so needed moisture and are more awake, but the balm does nothing for the dark circles nor does it for smoothing the fine lines under the eyes. I would say it's like a good eye refreshment in the morning but it is quite pricey so I would rather spend my money on Garnier eye roller than this balm. I will continue my search for the perfect eye balm/gel which would really live it up to my criteria. This one didn't, even though one would expect Lierac to do a great job. Is there such a miracle eye cream that would brighten, freshen, depuff, awaken, smooth and soothe my eyes? I guess I'm expecting too much from an eye cream but I really hope to find one which would do all of these : ) That's it for now! Have a great week, girls! I know, Monday always sucks, but there is always Tuesday that follows...

Detox day 4

So today was my last day of my fruit detox.
Breakfast:
 -toast with homemade strawberry jam
- half an orange
- mint + chamomile tea with lemon

Lunch:
- banana
- 1/3 of melon
- 40gr. of almonds for proteins

Water + daily vitamins, 1h.Callanetics workout.

I was feeling good the whole day, but I was beginning to crave normal food, I got tired of eating only fruit and wanted to get back to my normal regime. Actually it was my mum that convinced me to stop it. She said you don't have any health problems to do it for a long term, you are healthy and 3 day detox is really enough for your body. You might not realize, but your body lacks other nutrients, it's not enough what you get from fruits so you might become very weak if you continue it for a week. I said ok, you must be right. So I had my first normal meal in the afternoon and treated myself with fruit tea and some chocolate afterwards as an award for being so resistant for 3.5 days.

To conclude everything, I have to say that it wasn't that hard for me to eat only fruits. The first day was a little tough because it was quite a shock for a body, but the rest of the time I was feeling good, very light. I think I've even lost few kilos, but they will be back as I am back to my normal diet. However, it's not a big deal for me as I just wanted to detox my body. Another thing I've noticed is that my skin became slightly clearer and I  haven't broken out since. I'm not sure if it's fruits and lots of water or the vitamins that I've been taking for healthier skin, nails and hair. So that is it. If you wanna try fruit detox, do it, but know your limits, don't continue for too long. :)

Essie nail polish dryer

Here's a little product that I want to share with you. If you struggle with drying your nails after applying your nail polish, you will want to give this product a go. It is by Essie, probably my favorite nail polish brand and is called instant dry oil. It's not a topcoat so it won't give mirror shine to your nails. It basically is an oil which you apply on top of your nail polish and you just leave it till the drops of oil soak in and dry out, which means that your nail polish has dried and you don't need to be careful with your hands anymore. As it is an oil it can stain anything you touch and leave an oily residue on the surface of the things you touch. So be aware of that. After your nails have dried, you can just rub the rest of the oil into your cuticles. It can work as a 2 in 1 product, a nail dryer and a cuticle oil. I really like this product when I'm not applying a top coat to my nails. If any of you have tried it, tell me your thoughts!

Fruit detox. Day 3

I'm almost halfway with my detox. Here's today's "food":

Breakfast:
-toast with jam
- banana
- chamomile tea

Lunch:
- 1 banana
- half the bowl of white grapes
- half mango
- mint and chamomile tea with lemon

Dinner:
- 1 banana
- the rest of the mango
- few grapes

Water + daily vitamins. And today I had a 45min Callanetics class. I have been feeling good the whole day, I feel kinda light, don't feel hunger even if it's the 3rd day already. The only downside is that I feel very sleepy. During the lectures at uni, while at home. I fall asleep reading or if I'm simply resting. I guess it's because I don't get energy from fruits and I workout everyday. I loose my energy thus I'm sleepy. Anyway, 4 days remaining and I'll be done with my detox. :) Hope you are having a nice week, everyone!

Fruit detox. Day 2

Hi guys! So here is the list of what I ate today:

Breakfast:
-toast with jam and a glass of water

Pre-lunch:
-2 bananas

Lunch:
- 1 banana
- 1 orange
- Mint and Chamomile tea

Dinner:
- a bowl full of white grapes
- Mint and Chamomile natural tea again

Lots of water + daily vitamins.I also had a 45min Callanetics class today. Now onto the way I feel. To be honest, this morning was horrible for me. Most of the fruits that I had yesterday were acidy and my stomach didn't like that. I woke up really pale (even my lips turned skin color), I wanted to trow up and felt all this acid accumulated in my stomach coming up my throat. I felt very weak also, could hardly squeeze the tube of a lipgloss. So I took 2 charcol/carbon pills to calm down my stomach and fasten my metabolism. After a while it all passed and I was feeling great. I kept on eating only fruit and I don't feel as if I am starving at all. Fruits contain a good amount of sugar so I don't feel hungry.

I drank lots of water, took 2 vitamins C, Calcium and Viaderm vitamins for skin, hair and nails.
Today I also started my gym workout. I had 1 hour of pilates, 45 mins of zumba and 15mins of belly dancing.

Prestige my longest lashes mascara

If you are one of those girls that have thick, full lashes that lack length, this is a mascara for you! Hearing good things about this mascara from Ruth (amodelrecommends.com) and Tanya (pixi2woo on youtube) convinced me to buy it, not to mention the cheap price. My lashes are normal, I mean they are not thick, nor they are long so a good mascara is always essential for me. I love my Loreal Voluminous to the bottom of my heart and am still using it almost daily. However, now I'm rotating it with my new Prestige mascara. When I want more intense look, thick, black and longer lashes, I'll go for Loreal, but Prestige mascara is perfect for everyday. It looks very natural on your lashes. I find that the wand is very similar to Loreal Telescopic mascara, it is made out of rubber, bristles are very short and the wand itself is very thin. All I have to say is that I love this mascara! It is not very liquidy which means that you won't have problems with clumpy lashes. But because of that I find that it might dry out pretty fast (we'll see). The application takes longer than other mascaras would, at least I feel so. You have to layer coats of mascara on your lashes over and over again, but they do not stick together or become spidery looking. Just be patient and you'll be wowed by the end results! It is seriously lengthening! Hence the name. Do not expect volume from it, you will be left with natural looking mile long lashes. I highly recommend this mascara and the price of it is around 7 euros.

Fruit detox

Hello my fellow readers! So, spring is here thus I wanna start eating healthier and begin to workout. But first of all, I decided that I should clean up my body by doing fruit detoxification for a week. I've read so many good things about fruit detox that I was really tempted to try it and see how I feel. These are some great advantages of fruit diet:

  • It helps to restore the acid-alkaline balance of the body, eliminates toxins and provides nutrition and energy in the process.

  • It is very effective in getting rid of allergies as well.

  • People on such a plan have reported improved vision.

  • The benefits of fruit detoxification translate to healthier skin, hair and nails

  • Besides reporting increased resistance to cold and hot water, people using fruit to detoxify have reported faster reflexes, increased stamina, endurance and energy levels, enhanced auditory and olfactory abilities, fresh breath and no body odour.

  • At the mental level, detox using fruits has resulted in higher concentration levels, keener learning abilities, sharp memory and mental stamina and stability.

  • Plans of detox using fruits, besides the elimination of toxins and ensuring greater physical health, also help in decreasing stress and reaching calmer states of mind.

  • Fruits, being solid food and high in natural sugars, will keep one satisfied and hunger can be easily averted.

  • There is a large variety of fruits to consume, and one need not get bored or restricted during detox.

  • Citrus fruits have the highest detoxifying effects (especially lemons) and should be ingested a lot during fruit detox. Also, detoxification takes place the most during sleep, though the body is engaged in the process during the day as well.

  • Post detox, the body is lighter from waste elimination and has access to higher energy levels. Toxic build up in muscles and joints comes to a stop. Also, the high fruitdiet during detox allows the body to stabilize blood sugar, creating a spike in energy and vitality. (http://www.all4naturalhealth.com/fruit-detox.html)

I know this diet has some side effect as any other diets do so you shouldn't eat only fruit for too long. I think one week is quite a long time period and I don't want to completely eliminate the essential minerals that my body needs so I might have some fresh veggies, few nuts and maybe a raw cooked egg to keep my protein level up. That will not be a complete fruit detox, but as it's my first time doing so, I don't wanna  be too rough with my body. Ohhh...and if you are doing this, don't forget to drink water! It is extremely important along with taking daily vitamins (multivitamins, vitamic c, calcium, magnum, vitamin b and such).

I'll keep you posted if you are interested in fruit detox. Will do little posts by the end of every day telling you what I had consumed during the day and if I feel any different.

    Hotness overload

Aren't these like the most beautiful women ever? VS girls are such a stunners! I personally adore Candice, Adriana and Rosie the most...not to mention other girls, they are all gorgeous.
If you lack workout motivation, just watch one of the VS shows and you'll have it! If not, then your body is either perfect of you don't care about your looks. I think Candice has the most amazing figure and whenever I see her pics, they really motivate me to have a healthier lifestyle and start working out. Spring is a good start so girls, get out of your couches and head to the gym! I'm planning on starting my workout session the next week so we'll see how it goes:)

    Essence lip liners

These are some seriously cheap lip liners so you don't need to bother thinking if you need them before buying them. I've seen everybody use Prestige lip liners and say that they are good quality. I didn't find a color that I liked, so I decided to try Essence from the stand nearby. These lip liners are highly pigmented which means that they have a good color payoff. Pencils are not creamy, but not too hard either. I didn't find it difficult to apply. Because they are not rich and creamy, they feel a little drying on the lips so I wouldn't wear them alone, you definitely need to top them off with a lipstick or a gloss. Girls, if you are on a budget, definitely check them out, they are superb quality for 1.50 euro each!

The darker color 'Cute Pink' is like a muted fuschia and the lighter color 'Soft Rose' is like an everyday rosy nude color. It gives you Angelina Jolie pout look. When I had this lip liner on, it instantly made me think of Angelina's lips in this pic. This pencil provides pretty similar effect.

My lips with 'Cute Pink' alone

    Ieva's dish

This will be a very random post, not beauty or fashion related, but you can excuse that, cannot you?:) So, I don't normally cook (living with parents makes it easier), but I do love the process of preparing food. If I ever cook, I do it with a lot of attention and put lots of love to whatever it is that I am preparing. I like light food that doesn't make you feel heavy after having your dinner. And I am not a huge fan of meat, I barely ever eat it. I see a big possibility of me turning vegetarian in the future. I do like chicken, but can live without it as well. So today I was goin for something fresh, green and with lots of veggies. I did not know what I was gonna do, it was rather random recipe that popped into my head. I felt very proud of myself for eating such a healthy dish, full of nutrients. If you wanna try it out, just keep on reading:)

What you will need for this dish/meal, whatever you call it is:
    - Fresh vegetables of any kind, something that you like
    - Fresh spinach leaves
    - Olive oil
    - Salt
    - Fibre bread crisps
    - Canned tuna fish
    - Pesto sauce in a jar

    Cooking process:
-Cut your veggies in tiny pieces
    - Pour some olive oil on a grill or a pan, heat it and put all your veggies in, sprinkle some salt on top (not too much, cause salt is white death.lol)
    - Grill everything till you feel it's enough ( you want to keep your veggies juicy and fresh looking, not dried or and burnt-out)
    - Put everything into a bowl, add fresh spinach leaves and put tuna on top. Mix everything.
    - Spread the pesto sauce over your bread crisps
    - Take a glass of water and enjoy your healthy meal!

    Voila!

    Friday treats

As you might have noticed, by the end of the week, usually on Friday, I like to treat myself. Be it a bar of chocolate with a magazine, lipstick, nail polish, jewelry, bag, shoes and such. So here is what I got for the end of this awful and rather hard week!

A perfect combination for relaxing. Good tea and After Eight chocolates! Love them! This tea is new for me, I've never actually seen this brand before and was literally sold by the looks of the packaging. It looks so fancy and modern.
Check out the tea bag. How pretty!
The tea tastes soo good and is caffeine free!
You can check their website an see their selection of teas if you wish. I really want to try out strawberry cream, rooibos vanilla and minty green tea. Sounds promising! www.mycupoft.co.uk

I don't normally go for this kinda shapeless boho bags, I like my bags to have a structure and a shape. But when I saw it, I just fell in love with this bag. It's so effortless and bohemian looking, very summery. I like the fact that it's suede. For some reason I like the suede look in bags and shoes, quite often more than leather. Almost all my shoes are suede but I've never owned such bag. I believe that it's not very practical and it will get dirty easily, but prettiness wins in my case. We are planning on going to Turkey this summer with my boyfriend so I thought it will be a perfect bag for that. Summery, beachy looking, neutral color which means that it will go most of my brighter summer outfits.

Have a nice weekend, guys! Girls, love yourselves, cause if you don't, who else will? Treat your beautiful selves with some little presents. And remember, happy girls are prettier!
